Why is emotional & resilience coaching important for your child?

A child’s grades matter — but their feelings do, too.

Tuition lifts your child’s grades. Coaching lifts their mindsets.

Self-doubt, cyberbullying, peer pressure — kids face these challenges early in their lives. Without guidance, they may start isolating themselves or acting out.

At GenBrave Academy, we teach kids to manage stress, speak up, and bounce back with a growth mindset. This builds their resilience, confidence, and well-being so they can tackle each day with intention and purpose — empowering them to reach their maximum potential.

Together with you, we’ll help your child:

Real kids, real breakthroughs

  • Often labelled as disruptive in school, Ken came to GenBrave anxious and prone to lashing out when misunderstood.

  • With help from Coach Sharon’s personalised programme, Ken’s sense of control and self-awareness began to grow.

  • As he felt more understood, his behaviour shifted; he started owning his choices and responding rather than reacting.

  • At school, his teachers noticed a visible improvement in his confidence, focus, and interaction with peers. He eventually earned a spot on the National School Games Basketball Competition team.

  • Anna didn’t seek Genbrave. Her psychologist did. After diagnosing her with depression and anorexia, Anna’s psychologist knew Anna needed more healing than medicine could do — and referred her to Coach Sharon.

  • Anna arrived withdrawn, burdened by deep self-loathing masked by perfectionism, and a constant need for approval.

  • Over time, through guided reflection, journaling, and trauma-sensitive tools, she began to share her story piece by piece.

  • After a tearful breakthrough, she began eating with more consistency, participating in group activities, and even sharing affirmations she created herself.

  • Today, Anna stands out as a peer supporter in her school, using her story to lift others up.

Coach Sharon says hello!

“You are braver than you believe,

stronger than you seem, and

smarter than you think.”

With over 22 years of experience in guiding children and youth, Coach Sharon Chong walks hand-in-hand with children who need someone to believe in their bravery.

GenBrave Academy is a heartfelt tribute to Sharon’s firstborn daughter, Jordanna, who passed away from aggressive brain cancer at a young age. Her daughter’s courage became Sharon’s lifelong inspiration — a reminder that a purpose and bravery are essential to overcoming one’s inner battles and life’s greatest challenges. This profound truth became Sharon’s driving force as she faced and overcame cancer herself in 2024 to early 2025.

With GenBrave, Sharon wants to make a difference. Since 2020, she has personally coached hundreds of children to grow into confident, kind-hearted, and emotionally balanced individuals. Her signature approach combines science, compassion, and purpose. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and emotional intelligence — aimed at nurturing the heart and mind of every child.

Frequently asked questions

  • A life coach actively helps your child build a strong foundation for mental well-being—focusing on resilience, confidence, positivity, social skills, and even spiritual intelligence. In the 21st century, you don’t need to wait for crises to knock your child off their feet. As a loving parent, equipping your child with life coaching sessions is a proactive step to help them grow up with healthy coping tools.

  • Therapy (with a licensed clinician) is often directed at the past, addressing previous traumas through introspection and analysis. On the flip side, our life coaching approach is future-facing and skills-based. We clarify goals, spot obstacles, and create a tailored action plan for desired results. Your child practices practical tools like communication, regulation, and problem-solving with ongoing guidance, tool kits, and check-ins.

  • Mostly physical, as we can form a stronger connection with your child in person, and observe their body language as well. However, we can make exceptions and hybrid or digital arrangements for special cases. If you’re unsure, don’t worry — we’ll discuss the best format for your child during your 30-minute discovery call.

  • Not usually! There are special sessions like family communication workshops where your attendance may be required, but most workshops can be held with just your child. For younger kids, we may invite you in for the first minutes to smooth the transition.

Whether or not you’re in the room, please don’t forget — you’re always part of the team. We hold regular parent check-ins, share take-home tools, and align on goals for your child. Be present during the process! It’ll comfort your child immensely.

  • You can start a la carte at $200 per session, handpicked by you. If you’re looking for more holistic programmes that help your child grow over time, ask for a multi-session package — it’ll come with a discount! Every child receives a personalised plan after the discovery call, so you only pay for what’s useful.

  • Not at all. Coaching isn’t only for addressing “problems.” It helps any child—high-functioning or struggling—build the inside skills that drive behaviour. We tackle the foundational belief systems that inform how they think, feel, act, and self-manage. We teach a growth mindset, intentional choices, and practical tools for everyday challenges, so kids stay motivated, accountable, and purposeful.

  • Most families start noticing bigger behavioural changes after 4 sessions. Some report fewer shutdowns and outbursts from their child, resulting in clearer communication with the adults and peers in their life. Others express more confident, collaborative attitudes — and are more disciplined to follow through on their goals.

Throughout your child’s programme, we track their progress through personal reflections, coach observations, and parent/teacher feedback. We will adjust the plan together to ensure your child feels safe, heard, and supported so they can become their bravest selves.
